Panerai Luminor Gmt Watch Overview

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

The History of Panerai watches began in 1860 when Giovanni Panerai (1825-1897) opened his first watchmaker’s shop in Florence, Italy and made contact with some prestigious Swiss watch manufacturers who helped the Panerai name enter the world of fame in the field of watches. And it has been there ever since.

Of the several outstanding pieces that Panerai has created, the Panerai Luminor GMT watch seems to be on men’s preference list these days. In spite of keeping the eternal cell phone at hand, which undoubtedly shows the time in a very reliable manner, any of us needs a watch. To a man, the watch is more than a timepiece; it is an important accessory which actually completes the jewellery line. A brand name watch, a nice chain, a matching bracelet and sometimes a fancy ring can be found in any man’s jewellery box at home.

The modern man will choose his watch keeping in mind several characteristics which you will certainly find in Panerai Luminor GMT Watch. Unlike women, who seem to be more interested in design than in technical details, men look for reliable watches. The Luminor watch is a flawless timepiece any way you look at it. Equipped with a perfectly clear sapphire crystal and a massive screwed-in case back, the locking lever of this watch keeps the crown sealed against water intrusion.Produced in stainless steel or titanium, both the 40 and 44mm versions are resistant to water pressure 300 metres beneath the sea. Besides, the watch can be easily read in the dark due to its dial’s luminous indications (in Superluminova).

Travelling from one continent to another has increased tremendously in the last few decades. Maybe that is why watch makers consider it important to endow their products with the ability to show the time in different time zones. The Panerai Luminor GMT Watch is competitive from this point of view too. It can indicate the time in two time zones simultaneously which makes it a good choice for any traveller around the world.

The Panerai Luminor GMT Watch creator has not neglected the design at all. This watch is a very elegant piece which goes well with both a casual and a more formal outfit. The silvery white case and the dark dial make it conform to the modern tendencies turning it into the perfect match to any colour choice of your clothing. It is an unmistakably masculine statement that any man will be proud of.

Speaking of elegance, the alligator, calf leather or rubber strap that the Panerai Luminor GMT Watches have will give you the possibility of choosing what best suits your style. If you are looking for something classy, the titanium and steel version of this watch can be purchased with a very intricate bracelet created from overlapping titanium and steel links. Besides, the clasp will securely fasten the watch round your wrist so you needn’t worry about any undesirable incidents.

Stylish and reliable, the Panerai Luminor GMT Watch is one of the most searched for creations of the modern Panerai line.

Collecting New York Giants Sports Memorabilia

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

COLLECTING New York Giants collectibles or other sports memorabilia, can be limited by 3 things: 1) space, you have to have the room to display and or store the NY Giants items, 2) you have to have the time to scour Giants Memorabilia sites such as ours, 3) you must have the money as some items can be very expensive. Once you have these basic things in order, it is then up to you how to proceed. Often Collectors may look for authentic New York Giants Memorabilia which would include NY Giants shirts, caps, helmets jerseys and other fan items. Other Giants Football Memorabilia include items such as Cards Die cast Collectibles, Bobble Heads, Game and Player Posters, and many other things. Winning one of these items at auction is a thrill that may lead you to search for and collect more items.

One author described Sports Collecting like this: “The hobby of sports collecting consists of acquiring specific sports items based on a particular sporting interest of the sports collector. These sports collections of sporting things are often highly organized, carefully cataloged, and attractively displayed.” NFL memorabilia is simply a manufactured item designed for people interested in collecting sports memorabilia. The term NY Giants sports memorabilia usually refers to items related to a recent New York Giants Historical event i.e. winning Super bowl 42 or a big sports personality. Many people from all over the world collect NFL memorabilia.

When the NBA, MLB, and NFL began selling their basketball, baseball, and football jerseys in stores during the 1980s, game used jerseys also became a hot item among sports memorabilia collectors. Former NBA player Dennis Rodman was famous for taking off his jerseys and throwing them to the stands after his games were over. Eli Manning who threw a 13-yard, go-ahead touchdown to Plaxico Burress with 35 seconds remaining in the game, completing a 12-play, 83-yard drive in which the Giants converted three third downs, is probably the NY Giants player whose memorabilia is most sought after by collectors. The Giants pressured Brady through the entire game, never letting the great quarterback get into any rhythm. Justin Tuck (two sacks, six tackles, one forced fumble),led the defense as the Giants sacked Brady five times. These players seem to be pushing the already popular area of NY Giants sports collectibles and memorabilia to a new level.

Some collections are made up of a single item such as a signed jersey, football, or helmet or signed footbal, while other collections can take the form of a series of items, such as jerseys from each member of a the football team. A collection of hats from different championships is very popular. The New York Giants logo is especially popular as is the Super bowl 42 logo. The price of Giants collectible memorabilia is directly related to the popularity of the player with which the item correlates. The more popular the football player, the more money the sports collectible memorabilia item will cost you. As the sports collectible memorabilia industry is driven by supply and demand as more items are purchased and fewer are available these items have a greater value. For instance a MVP (Pat Borders) signed baseball I purchased for my brother as a Christmas gift after the Toronto Blue Jays won their first World Series which cost me $100 at that time is now worth well over $1,000. NY Giants cards are a good example. Only so many of certain cards were ever made. Those carry a higher price than those that are mass produced. Also the quality of your NFL memorabilia is a very big determining factor in it’s price. Look for Genuine Authentic in Proof condition as these Items will retain the greatest value.

How To Find The Owner Of Any Phone Number

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Do you receive prank calls, a lot of unknown calls on your caller id or need to find out who your husband has been calling on his cell phone? If so a reverse call search can give you the information you need.

If you ever tried a free reverse call search and found the information you received was pretty worthless there is a reason for that. most free reverse call searches do not spend much time updating there database. They use freely available public domain resources. You really do get what you pay for.

By joining a paid reverse phone search you will be amazed at the info you get back when you run a phone number search. Try your own phone number for a test. Another draw back of using free phone searches is tat you will rarely find anything on a cell phone number.

Free search sites also use the same database as all the others so you can save yourself a lot of time by skipping all the ones that say free. I found this out the hard way by wasting all day trying to get some basic info on a number.

I hate spending money but if you really need to find the owner of a phone number, even if it is unlisted use a paid search site. The fee is well worth it. Some have a one time use fee while others are yearly. The yearly option is almost always the better deal. Having access to there search for an entire year will come in handy. You will surprise yourself on the stuff you can dig up on people.

You do have to watch however, some sites are scams. they are basically free sites in disguise. Plus there is no contact form or any other way to get a refund. If the site you are looking to join has a preliminary search try it and you should get back some basic info even before joining.

By trial and error we did come up with a list of the top legitimate reverse phone search site. I hate getting scammed and always try to stop people from going through the same lessons I learned.

Trying to look up a person’s name, address or other information by their cell number on yellow pages or public phone directories is next to impossible. The reason is because these numbers are not listed publicly. The information you get with a paid search will give you the person’s name, current address, location, their phone carrier, criminal histories, court records, legal files, birth record and more.

You can also use there service to trace any cell, unlisted, residential, commercial, and even pay phones. We found out what the professional use and did our research using them. Private investigators, law enforcement agency’s and even lawyers use reverse phone searches for there research.

So stop that prank caller by calling them back and reading off there home address and criminal history to them. Last time I did this the phone went silent and I never got a prank call from them again.

Is that site you are going to join a scam? Get the insiders report and review on the best reverse phone search providers here – http://reverse-call-search.com Find out what the professionals use.

Wedding Cake Suggestions….

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Today, I am focusing on all those yummy, and don’t forget, beautiful Wedding cakes that I have tasted over the years.

I have taste tested so many wonderful cakes at Weddings over the years and I thought I’d share some ideas and suggestions with you when planning your Wedding and trying too find the most perfect cake. And wait a minute, not just trying to find the perfect cake, but trying to find the mot beautiful and season conscious cakes as well.

First, the yummy part. Cakes are very important at Weddings. People are always so excited for the cake part. Making sure that is taste yummy is equally important, as making sure that it look beautiful. Suggestions go out there, around the city and towns that you live and taste test! Its fun and is most certainly a must. Every baker has his or hers own way and style of baking. Some bakers I’ve noticed tastes a little more salty than others, etc. So taste testing is truly your best option! Not to mention, it’s a blast!!

Another important part of taste testing is that you make sure you get a variety of options. Now, just because you are a chocolate lover and want chocolate cake, with chocolate frosting drizzled in fudge, doesn’t mean everyone loves that too. What I’ve have seen done most at Weddings is the Bride and Groom will make the cake that they cut, just the way they like it, and then on the other tiers, make different flavors like vanilla, lemon, raspberry, strawberry, etc. So make sure that you have a few options, as everyone’s tastes are different.

Another suggestion, add a little funk to your cake! Instead of just having a cake with frosting, have your Baker put something in the middle. Isn’t it just the best when you are eating a doughnut and you bite into it only to discover that its jelly or pudding filled! Jack pot!! That’s the best. So do that with your cake. My most favorite cake I’ve ever had at a Wedding was of course, at my own Wedding. And the guests loved this cake. It was Vanilla cake, but in the center was sugared cream cheese and fresh strawberries. It was to die for! Yummy! And the guests were very pleasantly surprised.

Now to beautifying your cake! This part is very important as well. Photographs and Videos will be taken of this cake and of you and your new spouse cutting the cake and feeding it to each other. Just as you are picture perfect that day, so must your cake be also! Make sure that the colors on your cake coordinate with the colors of your Wedding and please make sure that nothing clashes!

Lastly, flowers. I know your thinking, “Wait! Flowers? Aren’t we talking about Wedding cakes?” Yes, we are. However, fresh flowers are a “must have” on your Wedding cake!! Cake make sure, in an organized way, you put fresh flowers, preferably flowers that match your bouquet. And did you know? There are suck things as eatable flowers?? Yes, its true! Eatable orchids are the yummiest, get the purple ones!

All in all, make sure your Wedding cake is yummy, beautiful and coordinates perfectly. Also, don’t forget to be weather conscious! Chocolate cakes with vanilla ice cream are good for winter, and lighter vanilla types cakes with sorbets are better for the Springs/Summers. Even an Ice Cream cake would be cool and really original!

Whatever you decide, make it wonderful!!

Made In The USA

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Are foreign-made products really less-expensive than their American-made counterparts?

Or have the advantages that overseas manufacturers currently enjoy with regard to their operating expenses and overhead costs come to an end? ‘Made in USA’ is making a strong resurgence and once again those 3 words are not just a point of pride, but are quickly becoming the hallmark of a better quality as well as a cost-comparable alternative.

Despite the hype of overseas manufacturing being the ‘wave of the future,’ at this year’s PPAI Expo in Las Vegas, there were countless booths that donned the ‘Made in the USA’ designation. The selection was endless from crystal decorated T-shirts to household items of plastic made from US-grown corn. It was evident that American manufacturing continues to thrive in an industry where its presence is often considered the exception, rather than the rule.

There are several reasons cited for this return to our roots, according to PROMO Marketing’s March 2008 feature story. Most notably, the choice to manufacture in the USA has to do with both product quality and pricing. Additionally, being able to control the production schedule to accommodate sudden changes in demand is another good reason to stick with American manufacturing.

Although those distributors in business less than 15 to 20 years have become accustomed to cheap tooling and set-up charges or no set-up charges for, sadly, poorer-quality, China-made products; and have now accepted those standards as the norm; there are many who are simply unaware there are higher-quality alternatives. And it looks like these alternatives really pay off in the long run.

Douglas Beckwith, director of sales and marketing at Creative Modeling & Design, North Attleboro, Mass., provides this reminder: “Quality starts with good designs and tooling, and is remembered long after price is forgotten.”

With strict FDA standards regarding personal-care amenities such as Prop 65, American sources are clearly the better choice.

Take, for instance, the misfortune of children’s toy giant, Mattel. Last year they were faced with a recall of more than 22 million toys found to have lead-based paint. Product liability is something end-buyers are anxious to avoid at all cost. Buying American-made promotional products, particularly with personal-care amenities is the best way to insure compliance and alleviate risk.

When it comes to pricing, the cost of airfreight to offer a reasonable production schedule alone can far outweigh the benefit of any low production rates touted by Chinese manufacturers. With the production of heavier and larger products such as medallions, if customers are not interested in waiting up to 12 weeks (or more) for their orders this can easily become cost prohibitive.

Additionally, the risk of price inflation is, in fact, significant for distributors selling imported products. There is far less protection against price increases with imports, where so many cost variables are in play.

So it’s not just loyalty and a sense of pride that has so many proudly proclaiming and displaying “Made in the USA.” For quality of product, safety and price control, domestic manufacturers are confident their decision to stay stateside will pay off in the long run.

John McLaughlin – A Never-ending Quest

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

If you are a fan of Steely Dan, you’ll understand that one aspect of Walter Becker’s music is that he’s always been a perfectionist. In much the same way that a top author ensures there are no extraneous words; with Becker, no notes are ever wasted.

It has now been 14 years since Walter Becker – one half of Steely Dan – last offered us a solo studio recording – 11 Tracks of Whack.

It was back in 1994 that 11 Tracks of Whack, Becker’s debut solo outing, was released. It proved that the songwriter and musician had more to offer than he could through the medium of Steely Dan. And that is despite the idiosyncratic nature of the band’s music.

“When I write a song, it matters very much whether it’s intended for me,” Walter explains. “If it is, I can do what I want, within my own frame of reference. I take full responsibility.”

Yet, despite this, the 12 tracks that comprise Circus Money were a collaborative endeavor. During the three years of the album’s creation, he was working with Larry Klein, who produced and co-wrote all but one track.

“Writing songs with Walter Becker,” says Klein, “is like playing tennis with John McEnroe. It keeps you on your game.”

Also on top form were the musicians assembled for the recording sessions. Drummer Keith Carlock and guitarist Jon Herington, have both toured widely with Steely Dan, while keyboardists Ted Baker and Jim Beard were newcomers.

Walter is responsible for all the lead vocals as well as playing bass. “The bass gave me a more powerful position to define the direction I wanted the music to take…I became something of an expert on various sub genres (of Jamaican music), such as songs about motorcycles and/or featuring motorcycle sound effects; songs about the barbers versus the dreads, and songs about various judicial procedures.

It has been noted that the Jamaican influence started on 11 Tracks of Whack. Becker explains, “I had started listening to that (Jamaican music) way back in those days and at one point Donald (Fagen) and I actually experimented with the idea of doing an album with reggae-type beats on it in the Eighties…It’s always fascinated me the way they use the same elements of rhythm and blues playing, but they turn them around in a way and yet they still get a great feel on it, you know? And as a rhythm section guy, those rhythm sections are sort of the ultimate — the tightness of it, the complexity of the feels.”

How To Make Great Coffee: Do’s And Don’ts

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Making a great cup of coffee is easier than you may think, even if you’re a beginner. Just follow the do’s and don’ts listed below and you’ll be brewing a great cup of java every time.

Do Buy Fresh Coffee Every Week

The best way to retain a coffee’s freshness is to purchase whole bean coffee directly from the roaster and store it in a dark and air tight container at room temperature. The longer the coffee sits on a shelf, the more great flavor it will lose over time.

Ideally, you should only be buying about one to two week’s worth of coffee at once. If you have to freeze your coffee, make sure it is tightly wrapped and sealed, to avoid picking up flavors and aromas from other food stored in your freezer.

Do Grind as You Go

You should grind your coffee immediately before you brew it. Grinding releases a lot of the flavor, meaning the longer your coffee sits after it’s been ground, the more flavor and aroma gets released into the air.

Your grind will also affect the taste. Grind too finely and your coffee will taste bitter, but don’t grind enough and you’ll get coffee that just tastes flat. Don’t fret, though. It simply takes a little practice to get the knack of grinding fineness.

Do Clean Your Pot Each Time You Use It

A coffee pot should be cleaned out with mild soap and thoroughly rinsed after every use. Though tempting to let it sit when you lead a busy life, coffee has a lot of natural oils that are released in the brewing process and these oils tend to stick to the interior of a glass pot.

Over time, or even after one use, these leftover oils will adversely affect the taste and aroma of each following pot of coffee. The difference can be subtle, but is noticeable to coffee lovers.

Don’t Mix Coffee Types Together

Never mix different types of coffee beans together. Each bean is roasted a certain way and for a certain flavor. In addition, mixing beans could mean different acidic levels, bodies and flavors, making for one unpleasant cup of coffee. Having said that, though, feel free to do a little experimental mixing for yourself. You may, after all, find a combination that you and your guests find more favorable than the originals.

Don’t Let Coffee Fall Below 175 Degrees

Coffee can remain heated for a long time, as long as it doesn’t fall below 175 degrees. Once it falls below that temperature, it should be thrown out and a new pot should be brewed. Drinking lukewarm or reheated coffee after it has cooled is almost always unpleasant.

Do Use Filtered Water

We all know that tap water has a taste, so you should also know that taste in the water will affect the flavor of your coffee. Keep tap water minerals and chlorine to a minimum by using filtered or bottled water instead. Or, if you are really serious about good coffee, distill your own water with a countertop distiller.

Don’t Overfill the Filter

Overfilling the filter can lead to over brewing and an awful after taste. Instead, follow the concept of one to two tablespoons for every 6 ounces of coffee. Use the indicators on your pot as a guide.

An Insider’s Look At Bridal Market

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Did you ever wonder how bridal salons end up with all those fabulous gowns and accessories? Twice a year, the shop owners go to special events held by the designers so they can see all the hottest new looks coming out for the year ahead. The biggest bridal market is held in New York, and there are additional shows in places like Chicago. Market time is very exciting for bridal shop owners, and it is also a big deal for brides, because what comes out of the markets is what they will be choosing from when they shop for a gown.

Bridal market is very hectic, with show after show, and salon representatives racing all over town. Many of the gown and accessory designers will gather in suites or ballrooms in a few hotels, but the designers with New York showrooms will host private runway shows in their own spaces. The runway shows are definitely the highlight of the weekend. Salon owners make appointments to meet with designers and see their newest creations. They are given a packet detailing the specifics on each dress, and then models wear them down the catwalk. Owners have a change to see how the gowns look as they move on the girls, which is very important. Afterwards, there is an opportunity to inspect the gowns up close, either on hanger, mannequin, or a live model.

Salon owners also get a chance to see the latest in accessories at bridal market. Every year there are important trends. One year it may be classic pearl bridal jewelry. Another season might bring an emphasis on funkier styles, such as pearl bridal jewelry mixed with hand crocheted sterling silver wire and Swarovski crystals. Or what about feathers for the brides to wear in their hair? The fun part for salon owners is that they never know what gorgeous and creative new looks they will discover over market weekend.

The fun part for brides is when all of the new collections start to arrive in the bridal shops. After bridal market, salon owners sit down and carefully choose which gowns and accessories fit the style of their shops. Did you know that the salons have to purchase all of those designer gown samples? That is why not all of the dresses you see on a designer’s website will be in every store. So if you are in love with a particular style, call ahead. Often, the shop can borrow a sample from a designer for a special showing just for you (typically there is a shipping fee, which is applied towards the price of the gown if you order it).

Many brides are looking for the newest and most unique gowns and accessories, so that they will not look the same as every other bride. Usually gowns are ordered at market for the season ahead, meaning that dresses the shop ordered in the spring will arrive in the salon in the fall to be viewed by women getting married the following year. If you form a relationship with a fine bridal salon, they can give you a sense of what the look for the upcoming season will be, so you can have a sneak peek at the freshest looks hot off the runway. That way, you can be the first girl in town to have access to that fabulous new gown!
