Music is something which many of us find enjoyable and a great way to pass the time whether driving in the car, working out at the gym or just hanging around the house. As the years progress so does the technology regarding our music collections. While at one point LPs filled our shelves, today much of those are gone, having been replaced by smaller and more technologically advanced items. For those who want to still keep the music of the old LPs alive be able to get rid of the clutter, an LP to CD transfer is often the answer. In order to really see why doing so is a wise idea, the following will list some of the benefits which go along with an LP to CD transfer.

An LP to CD Transfer Reduces the Amount of Music Storage Space Needed

Records are items which often take up a good deal of space on the shelves and in one’s closet. One of the easiest ways to get rid of the clutter while keeping the music handy is to do an LP to CD transfer. An LP to CD transfer is simply converting your record music to CD music whilst maintaining and sometimes improving on the sound quality of the media. Performing an LP to CD transfer will allow you to use your shelves for smaller CDs and a wide array of other useful items which may see more use than your old LPs.

LP to CD Transfer Allows You to Keep the Music of the Past While Upgrading to Future Technology

With an LP to CD transfer, you can keep all of your music collected throughout the years and put them on useful CDs. CDs will provide you with the better sound quality yet enable you to not have to buy new CDs with the music on them or listen to your old LPs which may become scratched due to usual wear and tear. In addition, since LPs don’t have the same wonderful sound quality as the CD music of today you can take advantage of this aspect simply by putting the music onto a CD via an LP to CD transfer.

Prevent Having to Maintain, Upgrade or Purchase a Record Player by Using an LP to CD Transfer

You should also keep in mind the fact that performing an LP to CD transfer will prevent you from having to maintain, upgrade or purchase a record player in order to listen to the music currently on a record, as the LP type of media becomes more and more less used, the turntables and the accessories for your record player will soon become difficult to find. An LP to CD transfer takes the music you would have to listen to on a record player and puts it onto a CD thereby eliminating the need for a record player, and making your music more accessible, listen to your LPs in the car, or transfer them to your ipod much easier with the use of a CD.

LP to CD Transfer and Audio Restoration is fast becoming a popular choice for everyone with a large LP collection. Please visit us to find out more about LP to CD Transfer and Audio Restoration.

Nightmare at the Asylum

Today, I’m going to start this column with an apology. Last week my article pretty much sucked, cause I didn’t have a lot of time to write it. And there is no way in hell last weeks show deserved 9/10. It was a 7/10. Sorry for that sloppy bit of journalism. But that’s over with, so on with tonight’s show!

So, as always, we kick off TNA with Kurt Angle, who grew some mean hair since last week. And has lost teeth….And has different music…? Why is Mick Foley out here!!! TNA always starts with the Mafia. Always. I…don’t know what to do now. Nothing makes sense. *fetal position*

Foley starts talking about his match and the sacrifices people are making for it. He goes on to explain that for the first time Jeff Jarrett isn’t at Impact, and he feels somewhat responsible for that. He talks about JJ’s DVD and how he has respect for him. Then he pulls out a different DVD of something that happened in Tennessee regarding Jarrett. It is disturbing and dark, but he feels the fans have earned the right to see it. Later on, he’ll show them. Very mysterious. Good promo and suspense.

JB is back with the Main Event Mafia and is talking to Kurt. Wait, why does Kurt looked so jacked? STEINER?!? What…how…if…what the hell!!! Scott tells JB that Kurt isn’t here, and that he’s filming in Hollywood. That may be the longest time in Impact history we haven’t seen the MEM, especially Angle. So Steiner’s in charge tonight. Booker is going to face Holliday, and Nash is going to do something. Nash reveals that Jenna Morasca will financially back the Mafia…if Sharmell is out of it. Oooh new conflict.

JB is with Mick, who is taking down JJ’s picture, because there’s a “crack” in it. Foley asks JB to teach him the crazy eyes, and he references Three’s Company. For those of you who don’t get it, good for you. Eric Young comes in and is talking about how he makes the most of his scraps, but he never gets a chance. Foley gives him a match with Joe.

Recap of Lethal Consequences with Danials.

Match 1: Chris Sabin vs. Danials

West is still convinced Danials is Suicide. Whatever. Chris hit’s a shoulder charge and reverses a flipping arm drag. Danials hits a spinning backbreaker. They go up top, and Danials bites it, and gets set in the tree of woe. Sabin does a stalling dropkick. We see interference from Shelly and Lethal Consequences is at the ramp coming down. Danials reverses things in the corner and nails a backbreaker, clothesline, and kicks. Falling stomp to Sabin from the top turnbuckle, then an STO. He goes for the Angel’s Wings, but Shelly interferes and Sabin does a springboard clothesline. He goes for a spinning DDT, but Danials turns it into an atomic drop, enziguri, and a BME for the win.

Winner: Danials

Match Rating: 8/10

JJ promo

Mick is in his office talking to the refs. He singles out Earl Hebner as “shady”, and tells him no matter what not to disqualify Joe tonight against EY.

Scott is with Jenna, and tells her that Sharmell apologized. He roid rages on JB for correcting him, and wants to set up a meeting between the two, while acting as the moderator. She agrees.

Mick promo.

Lauren with Angelina Love, who asks her about the phone call she made last week. It turns out to be Cute Kip, who doesn’t like his girls being taken out, and he tells Kong that they have a stretcher match later. That should be funny.

Video of a day in Jeff’s life. He is with his daughter, driving a golf cart and a jet ski with her, just being a dad. He does say that Mick doesn’t know what living is however.

Match 2: Eric Young vs. Samoa “Taz 2.0” Joe

Joe starts off before the bell, taking the advantage. Eric does his flip over the turnbuckle and shoulders Joe and comes back in. Joe hits EY with knees and kicks him to the outside. Joe gets a chair and sets it up, but Young slams his head into it, and tries to climb into the ring. Joe hits him with the chair. In the ring, he locks in a rear naked choke, Cough cough Tazmission. He chokes him out for a win.

Winner: Samoa “Taz 3.0” Joe.

Match Rating: 7/10. Even though it was short, it was still good and accomplished what was necessary.

After the match, he picks up Eric and carries him out.

During the break, Joe puts EY in the trunk of a car, which drives off.

Mike Tenay interviews Sting, and asks about his sacrifice of retiring if he gets pinned. He says that he’s here because he wants to bring change, like honor and respect. He second guessed himself in the cage, whether he wanted to keep going, and that’s what cost him. But now he knows that it’s all worth it.

Lauren is with Wilde on her blind date. Daffney shows up and says that she set up the blind date. This is interesting. She flips out and screams “Where were you?!?” regarding the hair cutting thing, and that it’s all Taylor’s fault. She reveals that Taylor is her opponent in the first female monsters brawl, then attacks her. She walks away laughing like a nut job. Dr. Steeevieee, your patient still needs some more work done!

JJ is shown with his kids again. He references Mick a few more times, but is still just being a dad.

Match 3: Cute Kip vs. Awesome Kong

Kip out muscles Kong, but Saeed distracts him, and Kong throws him to the corner and starts beating on him. Kip grabs her throat, but Saeed low blows him. Awesome Kong gets a chair and, WHAM! There’s one chairshot. BOOM. And again. She wraps the chair around Kip’s neck, and does two running splashes on it. She rolls him to the stretcher.

Winner: Awesome Kong

Match Rating: 6/10

JB is with Steiner and Sharmell. He tells Sharmell basically the same thing he told Jenna. Um, maybe the roids went to your brain Scotty, but I don’t think you’ve thought this one out. JB basically says my thoughts. Steiner looks pretty worried.

Lauren is with Team 3D. They talk about how Tag Team is alive and well, and take some shots at WWE. The British Invasion come in and attack 3D with LAX’s cases.

Match 4: The British Invasion vs. Amazing Red & Suicide

Suicide and Williams start, and Suicide takes advantage. West is still ranting about Suicide. Williams tags in Magnus, and Red blind tags in. Suicide and Red double team both Brits. Magnus boots Red in the face and flips him over. Williams is back in. Knees and punches, Magnus comes back in and leg drops Red. Red then takes advantage and kicks Magnus in the face, then does a crazy second rope DDT. Suicide tags in and starts beating both Brits. Rolling samoan drop on Williams. Red does missile dropkicks Magnus out of the ring, and flips over onto him. Suicide and Williams are on the top rope, and Suicide gets thrown off. The Guns come in and does a double kick to the head. Williams does a knee drop off of the tope rope for the win.

Winners: The British Invasion

Match Rating: 8/10. Really good tag match.

After the match, the MMG take out Red, then signal they’re gonna remove the mask. Lethal Consequences come into the ring with a mike.

The four confront and attack Suicide, They pin him down, and Danials comes out. Then West says Suicide is still Danials, but who is impersonating Danials? Wow Don, go back to the bar. Danials and Suicide take them all out, with an Angel’s Wings to Creed. They shake hands, and Danials tells him that he owes him one.

I was watching the hockey game and flipped back too late, to a fight between Sharmell and Jenna. But lets assume what happens, someone asked for an apology, the other wanted one, fight.

Match 5: Kevin Nash vs. No Limit (Handicap match)

No Limit takes advantage, poetry in motion and some dropkicks. Yujiro goes for a flying clothesline, but Nash catches him and choke slams him. He hits a big back drop to Naito. Takes off the cast, and hit’s a Jackknife Powerbomb on Naito.

Winner: Kevin Nash

Match Rating: 7/10

Kevin grabs a mike and looks into the camera. He says that the world runs on violence, and at Sacrifice, there’s gonna be violence. But it’s name won’t be Samoa Joe. Will it be Taz though? It’s name will be Kevin Nash.

Mick is in his office showing his DVD to someone unseen. I’m betting that it’s Mr. Socko.

AJ Styles is with Lauren. He’s talking about his I-Quit Championship at Sacrifice with Booker. He says that he’s been preparing for this match his whole life. He had all kind of chances to give up, but he had heart. He says that “I quit” will never cross his lips.

Match 6: Jethro Holliday vs. Booker T (I Quit Match)

They trade the advantage and trade punches, then head outside. Booker drops Holliday across the guardrail. T asks the ref to ask Jethro, who responds “Your momma”. They head back to the ring. Booker kicks him and does a snap suplex. He starts choking him and tells the ref to ask again. “Your momma” again, and Booker starts slapping him. Jethro starts to mount some offense, but Booker hit’s a spinning kick. He asks again, and Holliday responds, “Sharmell looks good naked”. HAHAHA that’s great!!! That’s comedy and wrestling rolled into one match. He misses a scissor kick, and Jethro boots him. Now he asks Booker, who says no. Booker rakes the eyes, but Jethro clotheslines him. Booker gets a chair though, and hits him. Ax Kick, and then he quits.

Winner: Booker T

Match Rating: 9/10

Mick goes to the production truck, and tells the guys to play the DVD. Or they’re fired.

Mick comes out and rolls the tape.

JJ is at the sports arena, The Asylum. That was the start of career. He gives a tour, talks about his family and TNA, but then Mick comes behind him and starts choking Jeff with an extension cord. He said that he respected Jeff’s grandma when she was dead. Ouch. He hated Jeff’s dad too. Mick is just basically just beating Jeff’s [ beep ]. He grabs a chair and starts hitting him. He leaves him at the Asylum, and heads to the Impact Zone.

Mick is getting some Vicky Guerrero boos. Guess the figured out he’s a heel. He says that maybe Jeff learned a lesson, and that sometimes you cant go home again.

Overall: I don’t care who says what, this was the best episode of wrestling I’ve seen in months. There were no promo’s out of place, and maybe one that was totally unneeded. Lots of storylines, because they took a break on the main one for a week. Lots of twists in this show, and there were no bad matches tonight. So tonight, and this rating is actually accurate (sorry again), I have no problems giving this weeks TNA…

Show Rating: 10/10

The excitement of online gambling is hard to resist. Online casinos have the music, graphics, and sound effects to make you feel like you’re in the midst of a real casino, with all the possibility that the next bet will be the big win! Some online casinos even let you use a webcam to see and talk to a live dealer and other players while you do your gambling. With all this excitement, you might be tempted to leap in to the first casino that looks like fun, but don’t do it! You need to read this casino guide first, designed to be like a jump-start to the online casino gambling world.

Play It Safe!

First, you want to look for a gambling site that is registered with and approved by eCOGRA, the e-Commerce Online Gambling Regulation and Assurance organization. It was actually started by online gambling pioneers, Microgaming and http://888.com, and has reviewed nearly 200 online casinos.

If an online casino is approved, it will display the organization’s seal. This means you can believe that the site’s claims on payout rates are real, and that if you have any complaints about the site, you can file a complaint with eCOGRA. Without these guarantees, you could be left dealing with a shady site that fakes their ‘winners’ and leaves you with no recourse if you feel you’ve been mistreated.

Get More for Your Gambling

Online casinos know that they can’t get you to pay if they can’t get you to play, so they usually offer some kind of incentives to get you to put your money on the table. They can vary greatly in value and the time it takes to receive them, so be sure you read their terms thoroughly before you make a decision on which site(s) to join. Examples include:

• Signup Bonuses – Money that the casino offers you to start gambling, usually in the form of a ‘match’ to the funds that you deposit. However, you’ll have to gamble a certain amount before you can cash it out, and some winnings may be excluded from earning the bonus.

• Cashable Bonuses – An amount of money that you ‘earn’ once you reach a threshold in the amount that you’ve gambled. For example, you might earn $100 as a bonus after you’ve bet several thousand dollars. Be sure to read the fine print – you might have to wait some time before cashing out, which is their way of waiting and hoping that you will continue to play – and hopefully lose.

• Sticky Bonuses – A match from the online casino that can be leveraged, but not cashed out. In other words, you can bet with the money, but when you’re ready to cash out, you don’t get the original amount that they gave you as a match. It can still be valuable, since if you have more to bet with, you can earn more. For example, if you deposit $200, and the casino matches you with $200, then you can bet up to $400 and possibly win that $400! When you cash out, you’d get the $400 you won and your $200 original deposit – but not the sticky bonus. Again, there are often restrictions, so read carefully.

• Cash-Back Bonuses – Some casinos will offer back a percentage of the money you have lost if you will keep playing. But these are very rare, since they cut into the casino’s take!

• Comps – Just like in live casinos, some will offer you comp points that you can use for discounts, products, or other benefits. Check the sites for details and any exclusions.

Play Before You Pay!

Online casinos will almost always allow you to play ‘for fun’ before you actually bet any money. The benefit for you is that you can get a chance to ‘feel out’ the site, test the games you might like, and be sure that you understand how the games are played before you start risking your money.

Their hope, of course, is that you’ll win enough to think you can do the same with real money so that you’ll start gambling. But – be careful here. No one bets exactly the same way when they are practicing as they do when real money is on the line. People tend to take more risks during practice, meaning they may win (or lose) higher pots and earnings than if they were really risking their hard-earned money. Use the practice time for fun or to educate yourself, but be mindful that you’ll likely see different outcomes once you start playing for money.

Straight Blazin: New Harts, New Feuds, New Champ?

Welcome back Ladies and Germs to this edition of Straight Blazin! We are now less then a week from Judgment Day and things are heating up in the Land of Extreme! Christian will be taking on Jack Swagga for the ECW Championship. Jack Swagga seems to have had the upper hand the last few weeks so lets see what happened this past week!

We open up the show with Jack Swagga and Christian in Tiffany’s office. A MAJOR announcement of the first Peep Show in 4 years!! Awesome talk show since Christian has amazing charisma and this is definitely a segment to look forward to. Tiffany tells the two to not touch one another but feel free to talk all kinds of smack. She goes on to say if either one of them does something, there will be consequences. Tiffany makes sure Swagga hears it again and he gets an attitude with her leaving her looking pissed.

Our first match of the night is Mark Henry with Tony Atlas going up against Tommy Dreamer. Matt Stryker proceeds to call him Mastadon like and really made me laugh a lot. Stryker is absolute GOLD on the mic. They mention about Tommy Dreamers vow to quit his contract if he doesn’t win the ECW title by the end of next month. The match gets underway and we see Henry with the IMMEDIATE advantage as he should be.

Mark Henry does a lot of work on the “injured” spots of Tommy Dreamer. According to Matthews and Stryker, Tommy Dreamer is performing injured with several cracked ribs and other different injuries. So Mark Henry works a very slow paced and injuring match for the first part of it. Tony Atlas is basically as useless as anything right now its never more evident then in this match.. He just stands there in his sleeveless shirt and literally does nothing. I wish I could have that job of earning six figures a year to stand there and yell..

Dreamer goes to get some momentum and every time he does he is thwarted by Mark Henrys raw power. Dreamer finally gets some momentum and keeps the big man on the ground. Henry is slumped in the bottom turnbuckle and he does the tree of woe type thing on Henry instead of hanging him there. He nails his DDT after that and goes for a pin but Henry gets his leg on the ropes.

Atlas then distracts the ref and gets on the apron allowing Henry to get the advantage. After a little bit of a beat down he hit’s the Worlds Strongest Slam and picks up the victory. Atlas proved to be a LITTLE useful I guess.. But not really needed if Henry is supposed to be this big monster.

Match Rating: 2.5/5

Match Review: I wasn’t expecting a masterpiece from Henry/Dreamer.. But it delivered what it had to.. I don’t know what they are planning for Dreamer.. But it was a mediocre match but served its purpose.

We go to the back to see Gregory Helms ready to interview Natalya and Tyson Kidd. Natalya is banned from ringside as Tyson Kidd takes on Finlay. He mentions being from the Hart Dungeon and says he will take out Finlay once and for all. Natalya wishes him luck as he goes out for his match and Gregory Helms tries to pick up Natalya, cant blame him, but gets denied.. He then says the famous “WHATS UP WITH THAT??” and we go to commercial break. Gregory Helms = Win..

Back from the commercial break to the annoying music of Finlay.. I was HOPING they would change it to something else or even back to what it was.. But nope.. We are stuck with the same crappy Hornswoggle theme.. What a nice pop from the crowd though. Tyson Kidd makes his way out to the ring then and he gets a mixed reaction. Stryker hypes him as the “last graduate of the Stu Hart Dungeon” which he is.. What an honor this kid has, and he is good to work with. I worked with him before at a local show, good guy!

The match gets underway with two very different styles of wrestlers. Technical and high flying on the one hand and brawling and cautious on the other. The two have a very nice exchange back and forth with quite a few different grapples and positions. Finlay showing his old WCW self and working some technical aspects of wrestling a lot with Tyson. Finlay shows some true power and gains the upper hand while Kidd is on the outside stomping him from the apron. Tyson trips him and looks to have the offensive before Finlay nails him again.

The two are really matching up well with each other and their styles blend perfectly together it seems. Finlay seems to have the advantage for a good part of this back and forth matchup. Tyson Kidd hits a couple high spots and has a good showing but it was a Finlay led match from the getgo. He even hit the Rolling Hills which I haven’t seen in awhile. Tyson Kidd gets the advantage for a bit but then Finlay right back on the attack.

Out of nowhere D.H. Smith comes barreling into the ring to help out Tyson Kidd! They are calling him David Heart Smith. It looks like The New Hart Foundation has finally been formed on ECW which is something I’ve been waiting for a long time. DH Smith is the son of the British Bulldog and a Hart stepson. They perform the Hart Attack that the old Hart Foundation made famous and Natalya comes out to celebrate with the two and FINALLY form The New Hart Foundation! What an amazing end to a decent match.

Match Rating: 4/5

Match Review: It was a good back and forth 10 minute match. It also was an amazing ending that gave me goosebumps being able to remember the Hart Foundations glory days and to see those two amazing young stars team up with the gorgeous Natalya.. Only good things came come from this!!

We come back from the commercial break and we see a Raw Report after the recap of the New Hart Foundation.. This is the time when I will suggest you go check out our Raw Report! Written by the great Curtis Kash! Check that out when you get a chance cause Raw is getting interesting! We then have a Judgment Day preview, airing this Sunday, and a run down of the card. This card looks interesting and my predictions will be at the end! We see Paul Burchill and Katie Lea enter the office of Tiffany and complain about not being on the show for two weeks in a row. Hawkins or Ryder, whichever, was already there and looking.. Interesting. Katie Lea then tells Tiffany her brother tends to get in trouble when he has free time. She looked amazing tonight as well.

Vladimir Koslov Promo: Done exceptionally well.. It looks as if they are going to push him to the moon again. I hope he can deliver this time around because he reminds me of a young Nokita Koloff.. We come back from a commercial break and get yet ANOTHER squash match for Vladimir Koslov.. This match shouldn’t take long folks. Koslov delivers several multiple head butts to the jobber and then reverses a high flying attempt by head butting the guy in the chest. Vladimir does his Chokeslam rock bottom thing and picks up the victory quite easily. I love his theme music so I don’t mind seeing him win continuously.. But GIVE HIM AN OPPONENT!

Match Rating: Suck/5

Match Review: Tired of the jobber matches.. Give him a fight…

He cuts a decent little promo after the match talking about Russia and how they have been in Olympic competition for years and years and says how he will dominate the WWE like Russia does Olympic sports. He talks about being trained in Sambo fighting and makes his point proven. The peep show is up next, first time in 4 years! Commercial break time!

We come back and see Christian making his way to the ring sporting the ECW Championship and gets a good pop from the crowd as the ring is set up for the first Peep Show in a long time. He cuts a little bit of a promo before getting into the show and says about how he is the ECW Champion and doesn’t intend to go anywhere and etc. He introduces Swagga who comes walking out looking determined and gets a beautiful heel reaction. A couple one liners from Stryker to Matthews made me chuckle during Swaggas intro and we move onto the show!

Swagga starts off by saying how stupid of an idea this is and Christian takes offense and calls him a sore loser and says its only slightly different from just BEING a loser. Swagga claims he doesn’t want to talk about anything with Christian and then claims he cheated to win the title. They show the footage from Backlash where Christian removes the turnbuckle and Swagga hit’s the open turnbuckle and picks up the win after hitting The Impaler.. Or w.e it is called now. Christian proceeds to tell Swagga that he got outsmarted and hes just being a sore loser and Christian is the smartest out of the two by far. He then runs a promo video on Jack Swagga making fun of his lisp and showing him complaining and talking heavy with a lisp.

Swagga asks what that proved and for some reason talks a little more with the lisp I think without trying. Swagga proceeds to tell him that Christian will be the guy that had his glorious comeback only to fade right back out of the limelight. He then says in 6 months he will be unemployed and sitting on his couch watching Swagga dominate ECW and wrestling. Christian tells Swagga that since he can’t touch him during the show, being the host he can end it when he wants to and proceeds to hit Swagga in the face with the mic. The two stand off at each other as the show goes off the air.

Show Rating: B-

Show Review: With the Swagga/Christian feud at full force I have a feeling their match will be decent at Judgment Day. The show itself did a good job hyping the PPV and giving that feud momentum. It also had the formation of the New Hart Foundation which scores extra points with me. Finlay/Tyson Kidd was a good match and Henry/Dreamer wasn’t awful.. Not bad ECW overall..

Below is the official Judgment Day results as predicted by me:

John Cena d Big Show: Hes the best in the world.. He will win, and maybe get taken out for longer after the match..

Jeff Hardy d Edge: I think its time for Edge to take some time off and for Hardy to lead the Smackdown brand like he should have been doing before

Orton d Batista: The age of Orton WILL live on longer.. Obviously..

Christian d Swagga: I think its too early to have Christian give it back.. Hes a solid champ and gold on the mic..

CM Punk d Umaga: If Umaga wins.. I Riot.. But he probably will.. CM Punk mark though.. Since ROH days..

Chris Jericho d Rey Mysterio: I can ONLY hope that he will become the 9 Time IC Champion.. Look for Rey to probably win.. But GO JERICHO!

There we have it folks! Remember to Stay Blazin and stay tuned for next week!

Introduction to Lao Cuisine

Although not as well known as Thai and Vietnamese cuisine, Lao food is a delicious mix of fresh flavors such as galangal, lime, lemongrass, basil, coriander, and mint. Meals are generally shared communally with a soup, grilled or steamed meat, a variety of green leafy vegetables, dipping sauces, and sticky rice. Rarely do the Lao eat with utensils, instead they form small balls of sticky rice in their fingers and used as an aid to pick up the food. Chopsticks are only used in the case of noodle soups, but fear not! Utensils are commonly available for foreign tourists.

The national dish of Laos is laap, a delicious dish made of finely minced meat, lemongrass, and herbs. Spicy salads such as tam mak houng are also popular. This particular dish is made from green (unripened) papaya, tomatoes, lime juice, peanuts, chilies, and fish sauce. Grilled meats, especially chicken and fish, are extremely popular and walking down the street the smell is mouth watering! Mok pa fork is a steamed fish in banana leaf dish, accompanied by a mild coconut sauce. A similar version of this is found in neighboring Cambodia and Thailand.

Most locals enjoy jaews with their meal. These are salsa-like dipping sauces, made from tomatoes, eggplant, or other vegetables. Traditionally jaews have accompanied meals in poor villages to break the monotony of eating endless amounts of plain sticky rice, but nowadays are being enjoyed by more and more tourists.

For celebrations, a pun pa is a festive meal meant to be shared. A whole steam fish, marinated in local herbs and stuffed with lemongrass, is served with a variety of fresh vegetables, herbs, and sauces. Diners create their own individual parcels of lettuce wraps seasoned to taste!

If laap is the national dish of Laos, then Beer Lao is certainly the national drink of Laos! This delicious beer was, up until recently, the only type of beer available in the country and regardless of how remote in the jungle you were, the villagers always seem to have a bottle ready to share. For something a bit stronger, lao lao is the traditional rice wine. Made in the villages, this strong alcohol is made by fermenting rice and is often consumed at weddings and other celebrations.

In the southern Boloven Plateau, Laos grows fantastic tea and coffee. The locals drink their coffee strong, often with a hefty dollop of sweetened condensed milk. Green, loose-leaf tea is served as an accompaniment although higher-end teas are beginning to appear.

Best tables in Vientiane, the capital of Laos

Dinner at Phatoke Laoderm is a unique evening. Housed in an old cinema, the restaurant serves delicious food on traditional circular trays while being entertained by a traditional Laos dance performance. Another unique, but typically Lao, dining experience is Poysian. Here guests barbeque their own array of meats in an al fresco setting, accompanied by soupy broth and cold Beer Lao. This style of dining is locally called sin dat and it is a truly local (and delicious!) experience.

For a special experience, check out Le Nadao which serves up fine French and Laos fare or our favorite, New Amphone. This hidden gem is tucked down a small laneway and features subtle lighting, jazzy music, and luscious wooden d?cor. The food is to die for (as are the cocktails!) including traditional Lao dishes such as barbequed Mekong fish, beef laap, and the ubiquitous sticky rice.

Dine for a cause at Makphet Restaurant, a vocational training restaurant which trains homeless youth to cook and wait tables. The restaurant upholds the highest standards of hygiene and serves modern Lao cuisine prepared with only naturally-grown ingredients and no MSG. The food is fabulous and the smiles of the friendly staff warm your heart!

Incorporating the French influence on Lao cuisine, Le Central is renowned for its gourmet Asian fusion dishes and fine French menu. With a broad selection of wines and delectable deserts, dining at Le Central is an indulgent treat.
